~~FIFTY YEARS TOGETHER~~

Fifty years together

Now in the twilight of our lives,

Since that day in 1955

When we became man and wife.

From the day we took our vows

And promised to be one,

There was nothing that together...

We couldn't overcome.

The lean years that we shared

Now grow dim in memory,

For we've been blessed so many times

In our "Half-a-century".

We've been so very fortunate

In our careers we've known success,

Our children and our grands

Have brought us happiness.

Together we'll look forward

To the years that lie ahead,

May they be just as rewarding

As the FIFTY we've been wed!

(I wrote this poem for my brother-in-law and

sister-in-law's 50th Anniversary. Since

then, I have given it as a gift to

several friends on their 50th

Anniversaries as well. I thought it

appropriate to use it for our

50th Anniversary too! "S")
